Buzzwords for Believers

Goal Oriented –Results Driven –Task Focused: Great words for a resume´, yet,  I’m not certain if most of us could use them as our spiritual “Holiness Assessment”.  

One would think that what drives us in the world could be nothing less than we devote to our “pursuit of Holiness” with the Creator of the Universe.   It recently occurred to that these three “resume´ buzzwords” are not about “Holiness” at all.   The words in themselves suggest that “I” can be in control. “I” can determine “outcomes” by my own actions.  “I” can please God by how good  ”I” am at getting his work done. 

The fact of the matter is that in our pursuit of “Intentional Holiness”, and to effect “Radical Breakthroughs” in our spiritual life; we have to be completely surrendered  and submitted.  There is no real spiritual transformation that can happen in or through our own effort.    Paul had it “nailed” and continually reminded us that as “New Creations”, Believers have a completely different set of “Buzz Words”.  Words that have nothing to do with “I”;  but all to do with “Him”:

Surrendered – Submitted - Sanctified!

Romans 12:2 9 (NLT)2Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which  is good and pleasing and perfect.

Galatians 4:19 (NLT)19Oh, my dear children! I feel as if I’m going through labor pains for you again, and they will continue until Christ is fully developed in your lives.

Galatians 6:15-16 (NLT)15 It doesn’t matter whether we have been circumcised or not. What counts is whether we have been transformed into a new creation. 16 May God’s peace and mercy be upon all who live by this principle; they are the new people of God.

Ephesians: 4:23 (NLT)… let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. 24 Put on your new nature, created to be like God—

Intentional Holiness - "Inside Out Change"

Have you ever just wanted to start life over?  How many times have you said "If I could just go back and do that again"? 

"Going Back" is never an option, but "Growing Forward" is a given for every Believer who is seeking fellowship and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

God changes us from the inside out.  Could it be that in our struggle to be Holy, we are trying to control the transformation of our hearts? 

  

2 Corinthians 5:17   17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

We are "new creatures" because of a supernatural transformation.  Change, transformation and restoration will come in our lives not because of any thing that we can do.  It is as simple as allowing the power of the Holy Spirit to work within us.

Intentional Holiness, Holiness with Purpose is the only way to have a radical life changing spiritual breakthrough. The closer to you come to Him, the closer you want to be.
